Baghunter
29.1.16
Designer handbags are a luxury that many of us dream about. From a classic Hermes Kelly to a Chanel 2.55, the designs that have stood the test of time are in high demand.
Authentication is important to all owners, with individuals wanting to be safe in the knowledge that their pride and joy is the real deal. I was recently introduced to Baghunter, a company that buys, sells, customises and consigns rate luxury bags including the coveted Hermes Birkin and Kelly bags.
Launched by Evelyn Fox, Baghunter was born out of a bad experience with a fake Chanel bag. With no real way to be sure that the bag she purchased was real, Fox was determined to ensure that no other fashion fan experienced the same situation as her.
The items available on Baghunter are sent to them first for authentication. Through this process, the company guarantees that every bag sold is 100% authentic, providing collectors with a destination that they can trust. The site has amassed an impressive collection of over 300 items, worth over $8 million.
It was Baghunter who recently broke the news that investing in a Hermes bag is better than trading in gold. That's good to know!
Whether you're window shopping or looking to make an investment, take a look at Baghunter and their impressive collection!

Tips for short haul trip packing
20.5.15
I regularly travel on long haul journeys so this week's short haul trip to Edinburgh feels like luxury!
Having just returned from a long journey, packing a suitcase is the last thing that I want to do. For long haul journeys I've got the suitcase and the routine down to a fine art, so packing for less than five days is feeling like a bit of a challenge! I'm not a girl who travels lightly, so the thought of taking the bare minimum is causing quite a panic.
Here's what my short trip haul is looking like so far:
Bag
My large L.L. Bean tote (complete with monogram!) is a serious contender for all my essentials. It's strong, durable and incredibly roomy.Shoes
I usually travel with five pairs of shoes.... so this trip I am aiming for three. My New Balance x Bergdorf Goodman sneakers will be on my feet when I travel and for exploring the city. They are the most comfortable sneakers EVER! I'll pack my pair of Chanel ballet flats for the daytime events when I need to be a bit dressy, and my J.Crew leopard wedges for nighttime fun!Clothes
Here's where the dilemma begins... what's the weather going to be like? I've been advised to take a coat with me, so I'll be taking my trusty Barbour jacket which has literally travelled the world with me.A pair of black jeans and x2 black pants will be perfect to mix and match for travelling and for each day, and I'll throw in a super light asymmetrical linen black jacket for hopping between lunches, meetings and sightseeing.
My stash of trusty striped Breton tees in every color scheme imaginable will also be making an appearance, as will some cute lace tops in black and white for the evenings. Simple is best!
I'll also throw in a few favourite pieces of knitwear that I can mix and match, and two neutral scarves depending on what top I'll be wearing.
Accessories
I'll take my most personal of jewels as well as this fun necklace from Knotty Gal for nighttime fun! I'll also be using my Chanel bag in the evenings and for when I don't need to carry my large Longchamp tote.Beauty
This is one area that I excel at. I've amassed quite a collection of travel sized toiletries for my various trips, and my washbag has to be one of the most organised I've ever seen! I have travel sized versions of my favourite make-up items, and just pack my regular brushes to make sure something stays the same!Other Essentials
Work won't stop for me- I'll be taking my MacBook, various chargers as well as my Nikon for those essential sightseeing snaps. How do you pack for a short-haul trip? Does the dreaded baggage allowance stress you out? Share your tips with me in the comments!

Investment Flats: Chanel + Ferragmo
10.4.15
I live the majority of my life in flat shoes, so when it comes to finding new ones, I need something that will last.
I like my flats to be classic. They have to be black, not overly fussy, but something that will stand out.
My first pick was a pair of Ferragmo Varina flats. I opted for the black patent version and bought them whilst in Toronto. They are the ultimate sophisticated shoe, and the classic bow is the perfect touch.
When I was in Paris in October I headed to Chanel to check out their ballet flats. They'd been on my list for quite a while and I was eager to see them in person. They had some gorgeous variations on the classic ballet style- tweed, patent, plain leather and quilted. After much decision making, I chose the patent toed version. (Notice a theme here?!)
Purchasing the Chanel versions in France saved me a bit of money, and these are the most comfy shoes I have ever bought. There was no need to wear them round the house to break them in- I took them straight from box to walking.
Whilst these shoes aren't cheap, they are certainly two items in my wardrobe that will stand the test of time and can be worn over and over. I was fortunate to save money by purchasing the Varina's in Canada, and also saving a substantial amount by purchasing the Chanel's in Paris.
There should be a place for investment pieces in every girl's wardrobe, and these flats form a solid place in mine!
What is your ideal investment piece? Let me know in the comments!

Tell us about the concept of the SHE CAVE and why you always wanted one.
Women want their own unique space in the same way that a man does, so I simply built my ideal space. I also spend a lot of time socializing and fundraising, so the idea was to have a private space where I could relax, but also do my #1 job, which is raising money for charity.
You use the SHE CAVE for charity and fundraising events. How much money has the CAVE raised for organizations?
Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised in this beautiful space, and the next event is on August 24th for Camp Adventure, an oncology camp on Shelter Island, NY.

Tell us about the merchandise in the closet- what are your favourite items? Which are the most expensive?
My favorite items were recently stolen, unfortunately, and I wish I could get those back. Among them was a locket with my son's hair, he died in 2006 and the day he was buried I cut some hair from his head at the funeral home, this was what I had left of him that made me feel truly close to him and it was taken in the heist. Then there's the heirloom jewelry that my mother-in-law passed down to me, which I also cannot replace. My most expensive items have always been the Birkin bags I own, and my favorite shoes are what I refer to as my Hollywood shoes because they are covered in jewels and have the word "Hollywood" written on the sides. They're over-the-top in a fun way, they make me feel really spunky and fun when I wear them.
