Six months of 2018 have passed, and it's time for the Prime Minister's fashion highlights for the first half of the year.
Outerwear
It seems strange to be writing about a coat when it's summer, but I am still in love with May's Herno coat. Perhaps a Christmas gift, but the PM wore this solidly throughout the colder months at the start of the year. And who could blame her! The navy wool outer has a glittery zip detail, with the puffa still inset adding a touch of athleisure to both her work and off-duty wardrobe. A really great piece.
Workwear
Making up the majority of May's wardrobe, the PM invested in some great new workwear pieces the first half of this year, as well as bringing back some of her tried and trusted items.
Quite possibly my favourite outfit, the PM looked awesome when she welcomed President Macron to Sandhurst at the start of the year. Wearing her navy spotted Daniel Blake military jacket with trousers, the snowy weather didn't stop Theresa from bringing out our favourite pair of kitten heels- the leopard Charlotte Olympias. And to top it all off, the navy Herno jacket got an outing too!
May's other Herno jacket pic was a navy tweed number for Davos. Tapping into the brand's athleisure theme, the jacket is sort of Chanel-esque- and comes complete with a chain belt. May wore this a few weeks later at a Downing Street reception for Baltic nations, teaming it with a pair of multi coloured kitten heels.
Daniel Blake is a staple in the Prime Minister's wardrobe, and we've seen a few new tailored jackets from the London tailor added to the mix.
A navy jacket with a subtle silver stripe is particularly striking, and May teamed it with her silver Mirta Bijoux necklace on a visit to Sweden and Norway in the spring. We've also seen the PM wear a textured black jacket in the same style from Blake both at home and abroad.
Whilst these are two great jackets, I will always love her purple Origami suit and the blue Orchid suit! Iconic.
And we've seen some of the classics make a reappearance in 2018! Remember the Sloane dress that Theresa wore in her Vogue shoot? Here it is again in Downing Street!

We also had the navy Roland Mouret dress make its reappearance at a Buckingham Palace reception. Bring this back again PM!
And who can forget the red Amanda Wakeley jacket... here it is again making a patriotic appearance for the launch of Women2Win Wales. Teamed with red patent LK Bennett kitten heels of course.
Evening wear
Sassy and chic, the PM totally rocks a jumpsuit! We loved the black lace jumpsuit she picked for the Conservative Party Black and White Ball at the Natural History Museum- making it even more iconic with patent red heels. She repeated the look a few weeks later at an Association dinner.
And we had a new dress in the shape of a black Amanda Wakeley off the shoulder number for the Westminster Correspondents Dinner. The sheer sleeves are particularly cool. T

Special occasions
The Mays attended a Buckingham Palace Garden Party in June. Wearing her stunning Maria Grachvogel and a new bespoke hat from the great Liz Felix, May teamed this chic look with a nude clutch purse and the Amanda Wakeley chain necklace and bracelet. If only we could see the shoes!
New purchases
We always get excited about new pieces in the Prime Minister's wardrobe, and Mrs May has not disappointed!
A favourite of many dedicated readers, May wore a great blue wrap dress for a Conservative Association event in Maidenhead. We're still on the hunt for the designer- so if you have a tip let us know!
Debuting at the Spring Forum, May's white jacket from Piazza Sempione was the perfect choice against a bright blue background. The scuba fabric makes it a little different from other pieces in her wardrobe but it certainly has wearability, with the PM wearing it at the G7, CHOGM and for other visits in the UK.
CHOGM presented a week of different outfits, and the addition of a new Amanda Wakeley dress was a welcome one! May picked the
Prince of Wales check dress, complete with a bright orange lining and highlights for a visit to the National Cybersecurity Centre and an evening reception in the city. Love it.
Shoes
Turning to my favourite area of the PM's wardrobe, we've had a fair few epic shoe moments so far this year!
One of the cutest purchases are the
Rosehip kitten heels from Russell & Bromley. May has teamed them with several of her skirt suits, brightening up the Commons with a little flower power!
And we had another red pair added to the mix. The
Audrey golden flame kitten heels from LK Bennett made their debut during CHOGM and have been seen several times since.
But the leopard Charlotte Olympias will always have a special place in our shoe obsessed heart.

Accessories
Big and bold necklaces have remained the name of the day for the PM. She expanded her Amanda Wakeley collection with the
rose gold chain necklace and matching
bracelet, braided with black grosgrain ribbon. A cute new addition!

And it has been good to see some of her beautiful Hermes scarves making reappearances. May jazzed up an all black skirt suit with a red and purple number, and marked #GreenforGrenfall with a green silk number. We've also seen a larger Hermes scarf added to the repertoire- any tips on this one gratefully received!
Even though we're only halfway through the year, there will be more epic Prime Ministerial moments to come! What's been you favourite so far?
