Egypt to Westminster: Theresa May's Week

From two days in Egypt to a busy week in Westminster, here's a recap of Theresa May's week.

On Monday, the PM was in Sharm el-Sheikh for the EU Arab Summit. May arrived the day before wearing a new, blue and silver patterned coat, teaming it with black trousers and the leopard Delicious flats from Russell & Bromley. And on Day 2, she wore the pink coat from Harris Wharf, pairing it with the Charlize black and silver toed loafers from Russell & Bromley. A definite winner!

Tuesday saw May in the House of Commons to deliver an update on Brexit negotiations. The PM wore her stylish navy suit with silk collar- which we now know is by Amanda Wakeley! She made it a red, white and blue theme, choosing the red suede LK Bennett kitten heels and debuting a snazzy new silver necklace.

And on Wednesday, the PM was back at the dispatch box for Prime Minister's Questions. The striking satsuma Nehru jacket by Daniel Blake made a welcome reappearance- and May paired it with a black skirt and the Curve heels from Russell & Bromley.

On Thursday, May welcomed King Abdullah II of Jordan to Number 10 ahead of a Britain/Jordan conference. The PM wore a black dress and her black and white colourblock blazer from Escada. She continued the monochrome theme with the fierce zebra Starlet heels from Russell & Bromley.

A Prime Ministerial approved Christmas list

Shoes

Need some dancing shoes? The Curve heels from Russell & Bromley made May a Dancing Queen - and the glossy red heel is the perfect conversation piece.

Sparkly and fabulously festive, we love the Humbug courts from Russell & Bromley. These are one shoe that will get you recognised!

And for a traditional festive pop (that you can carry season to season,) the red Audrey kitten heels from LK Bennett are a great shoe investment.

Accessories

Keep warm throughout the colder months in a handmade bright Pazuki scarf. May has several of these in her wardrobe - we love the Shadowland design. 

Those oversized bead necklaces that we frequently see the PM wear are by Italian based brand Mirta Bijoux. May has 5 - blue, red, black, mixed blue and silver- and there's a whole host to choose from!

Silk scarves are a great investment and if your budget doesn't quite stretch to Hermes, take a look at Megan Ferris's range. The PM wore one of her blue and white designs for St. David's Day celebrations in 2017.

The chain necklace and bracelet from Amanda Wakeley is perhaps the most iconic of May's accessories. Available in silver or a contemporary rose gold, it's an essential that will stand the test of time - and it makes the perfect gift too!

Last seen in Davos 2017, these unique faux fur snood from Louison'dor is pure luxe. Bring it back Theresa! 

Clothes

A great seasonal piece, a Harris Wharf coat will take you from winter to spring. May's pink one is particularly stylish!

I've a penchant for a snuggly coat, and Herno supplies them in spades. May has fully embraced the athleisure look and her navy wool and bodywarmer coat is my top pick.

For a chunky knit or a fierce dress, Amanda Wakeley is your ultimate destination. This dress we love!

What could be a more perfect present than a bespoke item of clothing? Daniel Blake creates beautiful suits, jackets and dresses for the Prime Minister - and this is a one off gift that I would love to receive on December 25th.

Bags

A staple for the PM, investing in an Anya Hindmarch bag is a solid choice. May's latest bag is the stylish Buddy model, although I am still very fond of the Vere satchel she carried throughout 2018.

The great Theresa May jacket hunt

I have lots of emails, messages and tweets asking me about Theresa May's collection of jackets. Many have been in the Prime Minister's wardrobe for a while, whilst others are new additions and have been particularly tricky to identify! 

But, the waiting to identify two of Theresa May's most recent jackets has come to an end.

The first, a bubblegum pink cocoon coat was first debuted by May on her trade mission to Qatar and Saudi Arabia earlier this year.

This striking coat is by Harris Wharf London. The British outerwear design house is based in the Islington area of London, and makes a beautiful array of classic formalwear from a variety of felted wools and cashmeres. All in bold and bright colours, we can see why May gravitates towards this modern take on classic tailoring.

And the second jacket is perhaps the one I have been most regularly emailed about. The eye catching navy and white, almost tie dye pattern was one of my favourites on the General Election campaign trail. The jacquard design is by the Italian brand Peserico, a company well known for beautiful tailoring in high quality fabrics. Synonymous with elegance and sophistication, the metal tag on the garment's right hand sleeve is an indicator of attention to design detail.

As it turns out, May owns a fair few items from Peserico. Her almost neon white blazer worn on Election Day and to the State Visit of the King of Spain are two recent occasions where the PM turned to Peserico. 

May also has a few other Peserico jackets stashed in her wardrobe, including this oatmeal version that she has worn many times.

One mystery is solved- and now onto the next set of pieces to identify in the Prime Minister's wardrobe!
