Trip to Bicester Village
26.8.15
Earlier this week I took a trip to Bicester Village to indulge in some retail therapy. For those of you not familiar with Bicester, it's a designer outlet village stocked full of brands including Ralph Lauren, Prada, Tory Burch, Givenchy and Salvatore Ferragmo. Nestled outside Oxford and a short journey from London, this it the place to visit if you're after quality at a reduced price.
Tory Burch is always the first place I visit, and there was a great range of items on sale from last season as well as some unique pieces. The outlet store is perhaps the best place to get some Tory shoes- you are spoilt for choice!
Talking of shoes I saw these great loafers in Church's- they came in a gorgeous range of royal colors!
On this trip, my pennies were spent in Ferragmo and on these fab grey, blue and black Varinas.

Royal Style: Princess Mary of Denmark
6.3.15
![]() |
| via |
Mary is married to Crown Prince Frederik, and the two met in Sydney when the Prince was visiting for the 2000 Summer Olympics. Fairytale romance alert! Princess Mary is well regarded for her great taste in fashion, and is a Patron of the Copenhagen Fashion Summit. She has been listed in Vanity Fair's International Best Dressed List and has been photographed for magazines including Vogue Australia.
Here's why Princess Mary is a style icon:
Doing black tie the right way in a navy blue sequinned dress by Jesper Høvring at the 2014 Bambi Awards.
Looking chic on the ski slopes.
Accessorising with a stack of colorful bracelets.
And a classic pair of navy Prada heels.
What do you love about Princess Mary's sense of style? Let me know in the comments!

London Weekend: The Glamour of Italian Fashion and Pradasphere
19.5.14
Despite the heat I had a great time checking out The Glamour of Italian Fashion at the Victoria and Albert Museum, as well as Pradasphere at Harrods.
The Glamour of Italian Fashion is open until the 27th July and features stunning dresses worn by individuals such as Lee Radziwill, Maria Agnelli and Audrey Hepburn. The exhibition examines Italy's dramatic transition from post-war ruins to the luxury paraded in the landmark ‘Sala Bianca’ catwalk shows held in Florence in the 1950s, which propelled Italian fashion onto the world stage. During the 1950s and '60s the many Hollywood films that were shot on location in Italy had an enormous impact on fashion as stars like Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor became style ambassadors for Italian fashion, fuelling a keen international appetite for luxurious clothing made in Italy. On display are around 100 ensembles and accessories by leading Italian fashion houses including Simonetta, Pucci, Sorelle Fontana, Valentino, Gucci, Missoni, Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Marni, Fendi, Prada and Versace, through to the next generation of fashion talent.
My favourite piece was the evening dress of embroidered net and matelasse coat, designed by Mila Schön, and worn by Lee Radziwill to the famous Black and White Ball at the Plaza.
I also stopped by Tory Burch, where there were some gorgeous new shoes in stock! Check out my favourites below.

Investment Pieces: A Classic Bag
9.1.14
Perhaps out of any piece in your wardrobe, a classic bag is the best investment. From an early age I purchased Mulberry bags (before the prices increased!) and I now have a varied stash of bags that I pull out time and time again. I've now moved on to other designers, notably those from France and Italy, and these have been some of the best purchases I've ever made.
So if you are looking to buy a classic handbag, who should you consider?
The Givenchy medium Nightingale has become a fast classic, and comes in a myriad of colors and materials. This black leather lamb model features two top handles, a detachable zip detailed shoulder strap and gold hardware. Inside you will find zipped pockets and pouches, a full cotton lining and a two way zip fastening.
I myself, am partial to a bit of Prada- and I love the black Saffiano classic purse. Visit Prada for more details on the different sizes and colors available.
Another classic, 'dream' bag is the Kelly by Hermes. We've all heard of the insanely long waits for one of these purses- so if you are serious, get your name on the list and start saving now!
I recently purchased a vintage Louis Vuitton Speedy- and it is fast becoming my go to day bag. Check out Vestaire Collective for a fine selection of vintage models.

Body of Proof: Fashion Favorites
4.7.13
Body of Proof may have ended, but its fashion legacy will live on! The show has made wearing 4inch+ shoes to work (and particularly crime scenes,) absolutely acceptable, as well as matching a mix of colorful high and low designer fashion.
Body of Proof inspired me to reassess my own wardrobe, filling in the gaps with stand out classic pieces that will stand the test of time. The show encouraged me to splurge in a little Alexander McQueen, Prada as well as finding similar pieces on a more affordable budget.
So what were my favorite looks from the series?
This Alexander McQueen scarf is so fantastic that I purchased one for my own wardrobe!
This orange riding jacket from Prada was a stunner to open Season 3.
This Tory Burch Emmy Leather Jacket is also one of my favorites- too bad I missed a chance to purchase it!
Megan Hunt wears a great color palette, and this striking red coat with side button detail (left) and this purple and red cardigan are simply perfect.
The Prada Saffiano bag has to be one of the show's standout pieces. Megan has it in both red (above,) black and in Season 3, debuted a patent purple model. I invested in the black version earlier this year, and whilst it was expensive, I know the bag will last for a lifetime.
Other standout looks is this great Alexander McQueen number from the Season 2 premiere, and these great leopard pumps from Series 3. I took the plunge and purchased a similar pair from J Crew!
Megan's accessories are always classic with a twist, and these cat's eyes sunglasses are a great indicator of the character's personality.
I've interviewed Body of Proof Costume Designer Susanna Puisto for Political Style on two occasions (here and here,) and it's great to hear about her favorite pieces!
"This green velvet blazer by Gucci scored high in our Costume Department, as did the burnt orange over the knee boots."
"Skinny pants and jeans were also some of my favorite looks to dress Dana in,"said Susanna. I personally love the purple and green combo (especially with the patent Prada bag,) and the black and purple is a great look for a dress down day at the office.
"This Ann Demeulemeester black asymmetric velvet coat is a firm favorite amongst the Costume Department, and it is great to re-use pieces from Season 1 and 2."
"We all loved this orange cape that made a welcome comeback in Season 3,"Susanna revealed. It's one of my faves too!
Susanna is perhaps most proud of three couture dresses that she designed and created along with her team for Season 2. "I designed a purple silk charmeuse that Megan wore for a dinner with her mother, the green silk dress for the medical awards ceremony (above,) and a great purple tweed dress (also above) with Esther Hamboyan who created the dresses for the film The Artist. It was a joy to see them on screen!"
The big question... what were Dana Delany's favorite costumes?
"Dana loved this gorgeous orange dress by L'Wren Scott, and these pair of red candy apple pumps by Prada. In fact, she loved anything that was by Prada!
