Grace and Frankie

15.6.16

So I'm pretty much obsessed with Grace and Frankie. The Netflix comedy is out of this world, and aside from the hilarious storylines, great characters and amazing Californian homes, the fashion is pretty ace too!

My style is classic with a twist, and the fashion sense of Grace Hanson (Jane Fonda) and daughter Brianna Hanson (June Diane Raphael) are my particular favourites.

Popped collars, Ralph Lauren and classic pieces perfectly sum up the wardrobe of Fonda's character. A businesswoman by trade, Grace is the epitome of WASP chic. From cashmere wraps, patterned shirts and a great pair of black boots (NEED,) Grace's style is an easy one to fall in love with.

Her daughter Brianna echoes much of her mother's style, but does it with a modern twist. The snarkiest character on the show, Brianna wears lots of power pieces, such as a rocking cape and tailored dresses. She opts for bright colours and her dress sense echoes her bold character!

Some Grace and Frankie style is sneaking into my wardrobe - roll on new episodes for more laughs and fashion inspiration!

My favourite fragrances

13.4.16

Tory Burch
I love to try out new fragrances, but there are always a core set of bottles that I always return to. With one used daily, another for nighttime and the other for special occasions, here are my favourite fragrances.

Tory Burch: Floral peony and tuberose blend with crisp citrus notes of grapefruit and neroli — anchored by earthy vetiver

AERIN Lilac Path: a delicate story of crisp greens, rich blooms and delicate petals, evocative Lilac infuses the scent with inviting depth, heightened by lush fragrant Galbanum. Creamy Jasmine Lactones blend with soft Angelica Seed Oil and Orange Flower.

Ralph: combination of sparkling green apple leaves, zesty orange mandarin, charismatic pink magnolia, seductive purple freesia and soft blue musk

Happy Weekend!

21.2.16

Happy weekend everybody! I hope your week has been as productive and interesting as mine! The early part of my week was all about the fun- catching up with friends and discovering a great working space with even better coffee and entertainment! The latter part of my work? Nose to the grindstone with lots of hard work! Here's what I've been reading through the long nights and between meetings!

Visions of the future from NASA: looking for some out of this world for your home office or room? Check out these free to download prints from NASA! I love the Grand Tour poster.

LFW: Designer homes we love: looking for some fashion and design inspiration? The latest post from Lorfords Antiques shares top tips on how to get the interior decor look of designers such as Ralph Lauren, Aerin Lauder and Thom Browne!

Buckingham Palace as a hotel: ever wonder how much it would cost to stay at Buckingham Palace if it became a hotel? Here's your answer.

Tory Burch Ready to Wear Autumn 2016: equestrian meets France in Burch's newest collection. I love it.

Lincoln Memorial renovations: my beloved Lincoln Memorial is about to undergo a pretty extensive renovation programme. I can't wait to see the finished result!

Trip to Bicester Village

26.8.15

Earlier this week I took a trip to Bicester Village to indulge in some retail therapy. For those of you not familiar with Bicester, it's a designer outlet village stocked full of brands including Ralph Lauren, Prada, Tory Burch, Givenchy and Salvatore Ferragmo. Nestled outside Oxford and a short journey from London, this it the place to visit if you're after quality at a reduced price.

Tory Burch is always the first place I visit, and there was a great range of items on sale from last season as well as some unique pieces. The outlet store is perhaps the best place to get some Tory shoes- you are spoilt for choice!

Talking of shoes I saw these great loafers in Church's- they came in a gorgeous range of royal colors!

On this trip, my pennies were spent in Ferragmo and on these fab grey, blue and black Varinas.

New York: My Trip in Photos

17.4.15

Earlier this week I was in NYC for meetings and a bit of fun! I was in DC for a week beforehand- you can check out my trip in photos here!

So, what did I get up to in the Big Apple?

I travelled from DC using the Acela Express. This is hands down the best train I have ever used. Fast journey, excellent service and so close to my hotel. The least stressful thing about my journey ever!

A standard photo of the ice rink at Rockefeller Center- it has to be done!

In the afternoon, I caught up with BBC America journalist Laura Trevelyan. Lots of fun!

A small trip to Brooklyn Heights reaped a big reward in the form of these stunning views of Lower Manhattan and then back towards Brooklyn Bridge and the Empire State Building in the distance.

In the evening I finally meet PR genius Matt Dillon!

After lots of sleep I headed to the Lareymondie showroom to meet creator Maylis and see the gorgeous collection for myself! (More on this special visit in an upcoming post!)

If you are looking for a quirky lunch spot then give the Crosby Street Hotel a try!

In the evening I had great fun catching up with friends Filomena and Cheryl at the amazing seventh floor restaurant at Bergdorf Goodman. Stunning views, delicious food and lots of laughs!

Also have to say big kudos to the lovely ladies at the Bobbi Brown counter at Bergdorfs- my make-up was out of this world and I wish I could do eyeliner as professionally as this!

On Saturday I had fun exploring around Midtown and the UES with lots of shopping thrown in for good measure!

In the evening I met with Annie and Rachel from Small Girls PR at The Standard! Lots of fun and a venue you must visit if you haven't already!

Sunday was a little calmer- I stopped by Ralph's for coffee and did some shopping at Kate Spade and Tory Burch before meeting my friend, Jennefer for brunch.

I love strolling around the UES- spring flowers were in full bloom, and I visited my favorite apartment building, 1040 Fifth Avenue. All in all, a pretty spectacular trip!

Equestrian Chic

16.9.13

The cold mornings, crisp leaves underfoot and steaming cups of coffee signify that fall has arrived. There's also no better time to embrace equestrian fashion! Some of these are my staples, and what I find myself lusting after as soon as 1st September appears on my calendar.
