Away from Number 10, and the prying lights of Westminster, the PM's off the clock wardrobe is the essence of casual chic.
Gone is the uniform of tailored dresses, bright scarves and kitten heels. Enter a new uniform of jeans, blazers and classic shirts.
Simple, chic and requiring minimal effort, May steers towards this look when off duty. But she doesn't just select a boring, run of the mill jacket. Her blazers embrace colour and texture, with some of our particular favourites from the Italian brand Peserico. A nubbly grey jacket and a navy with grey details are just two of Theresa May's top picks, and teaming them with dark jeans and a sharp white shirt makes for a really classic look.
But the PM does branch out into the bold - occasionally rocking a bright blue, lighter jacket and a green one whilst out and about.
And for the colder months, investing in good quality knitwear is a stylish strategy that has paid off. We particularly like the midnight and lipstick red knit from Amanda Wakeley that made the perfect statement during this year's cold snap.
Whilst we do love a good kitten heel, Theresa's off duty look is all about the fancy flat. The Russell & Bromley navy Cocktail loafers with the jewelled detailing are a familiar favourite, as are the leopard Delicious flats which regularly pop up on the PM's trip to church. But we often see a funky pair of navy patent and pink flats from LK Bennett - the Cassie- teamed with dark jeans when our leader is off the clock. And who can forget some more leopard, more often than not in the form of a well loved ankle boot?!
A good accessory shouldn't just be kept for best, and when away from the office, May relies on her trusty Le Sac backpack from Longchamp to transport her possessions. Her faithful Vere satchel from Anya Hindmarch also comes too.
As we head towards autumn and winter, we'll see May's fantastic outerwear collection back out in the open- her olive Barbour jacket with Liberty rose print is a constant spot, a black Herno number and the super luxe - and cosy - Herno navy coat.
