Parisian Chic City Guide

Paris is one of my favorite cities. The food, the fashion, the architecture- take me back now! I'm always looking for new places to visit when I'm in the city of lights, and the newly released Parisian Chic City Guide: Shopping, Dining, and More by Ines de la Fressange will be shaping my next trip.

Bonjour London, New York and Paris!

London, New York and Paris are three of my favourite cities and with the arrival of the Bonjour New York: The Bonjour City Map-Guides (Bonjour City Guides), a revisit is definitely on the cards!

As portable as a map but as informative as a guide, the hybrid Bonjour City Map Guides provide a refreshing look at this three popular cities. Written by filmmaker Marin Montagut, the guides offer his recommendations for shopping, dining and attractions in each of this cosmopolitan cities.

From the Monmouth Coffee Company in London, Merci in Paris and the Milk and Cookies Bakery in New York, the Map Guides will be my essential travel item on my next trip!

My Travel Wishlist

I'm experiencing a serious case of wanderlust. I'm in the middle of planning a serious trip for next year (more on that when it's official....) and making list upon list of the different things I want to do, see and experience.

Travel is the best experience you can get, and I attribute the opportunities I've had to see the world that have made me the individual I am today. I love to experience new cultures, see new things and embrace the challenges (and fun!) that travelling brings.

So let's get all gooey eyed by these amazing locations...


PARIS

The shopping, the food, the sights...I've been twice before, but I really want to go back!


AMSTERDAM

Maybe this will be the city in which I'll learn to ride a bicycle! Or perhaps I'll stick to strolling along the canals instead. 


DALLAS

Texas has been on my wishlist for a while now! Would love to visit Dallas and stop at the George W Bush Presidential Library.


SEATTLE

Blame my love of Starbucks and Sleepless in Seattle for this one... but really, what an amazing place!


SAN FRANCISCO

Near the top of my list, I'd love to walk across Golden Gate Bridge, take a stroll through the Presidio and visit Alcatraz! 


SYDNEY

I had an amazing time when I was in Sydney in 2010. This is top of my list! 


MELBOURNE

As a Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries fan, this is a close second on my visit list! (I have the locations list all ready to go...)


CANBERRA

The political junkie in me would love to visit the Parliament Buildings and sit in on a session. 


HONG KONG

Several friends have been to HK and it's home to one of my favourite bag designers, Louella Odie!

Current Reads and Wishlist

With the nights drawing in, there's nothing better to sit with a cup of something warm and a great book.

Here's what I'm currently reading:

Personal History by Katharine Graham: Winner of the 1998 Pulitzer Prize for Biography, this fascinating memoir gives us a glimpse into Graham's life and work. I'm currently on the section on Watergate and I'm hooked!

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt: The Goldfinch seems to have been read or is being read by everyone at the moment. It's worth the hype!

And these are the books I can't wait to read! Hopefully I'll get them for Christmas!


How To Be Parisian: Wherever You Are: This book deconstructs the French woman's view on culture, fashion and attitude. Every girl needs some French style in their life!

I'll Drink to That: Get up close with Betty Halbreich, the famous personal shopper at Bergdorf Goodman. The Bergdorf documentary is the perfect accompaniment!

The Women I Wanted To Be: DvF shares with us her journey of being one of fashion's most accomplished businesswoman, and of course, the story of the famous wrap dress!

Travel Packing

I'm currently on a mini break in Paris! Yay! The one thing that I really dislike about travelling is packing. I loathe it! Whilst I haven't taken as much luggage in the photo above, travelling light is definitely an issue for me!

Bonjour Paris

Next month I'm headed to Paris for a few days- I can't wait! I was last in the city ten years ago, so I feel like I need to rediscover Paris and all of its treasures.

I'd love your suggestions of where I should visit, where I should shop, which cafes and restaurants to see and any other gems that I really mustn't miss!
