Theresa May commemorates Passchendaele

Theresa May marked the centenary of the Battle of Passchendaele this weekend, travelling to Belgium for two days of commemorations.

On Sunday evening, the Prime Minister attended the Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate before going to a special service in the town of Ypres. May wore a tailored Knotch blazer by Daniel Blake- particularly striking for its navy and speckled blue design. She teamed this with a dress by Amanda Wakeley, hat by Liz Felix and the Divine flats from Russell & Bromley. Her bag was from Amanda Wakeley.

May also met with Belgian officials and relatives of those killed in the battle one hundred years ago.

On Monday, May was present at the commemorations at Tyne Cot Cemetery. May read a passage from Ecclesiasticus 44 (7) 8:14 and laid a wreath on behalf of the United Kingdom.

For this sombre event, May wore the Dsill dress and matching jacket from Escada, a black hat from Liz Felix, the Twister gold block heels from Rusell & Bromley and her Amanda Wakeley bag.

Royal Style Round-Up

Last week, King Willem and Queen Maxima were in Canada for a state visit. Their trip coincided with the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands.

Queen Maxima also wore a stunning hot pink long dress for a state dinner in Ottawa. Check it out here!

Another favourite look from the past few weeks was when Queen Maxima was joined by Queen Mathilde at a sculpture exhibition at the Hague. Both were dressed head to toe in Natan!

Royal Style | Queen Maxima

For the second post in the Royal Style series, I'm taking a look at the fashion of Queen Maxima. Queen Maxima became queen consort of the Netherlands on 30th April 2013.

Like her counterpart in Belgium, Queen Maxima favours brights and bold outfits, standout hats and serious jewellery.

An elegant silhouette on a trip to South Korea in 2014. Queen Maxima wears a sand-coloured dress with a touch of green, made by Dutch designer Matthijs van Bergen. She also sported a matching pair of green earrings from the Dutch jewellery brand Miccy’s.

Royal Style | Queen Mathilde

The Belgian Monarchy

Queen Mathilde is one of my favourite royals and one of the best dressed! Queen Mathilde is Queen of the Belgians, and ascended to the throne alongside her husband, King Philippe in July 2013.

Queen Mathilde is notable for her love of bright colours and standout hats. One of the designers she wears the most is Natan, and he also dressed her for the inaugural ceremony in 2013. It's no surprise that he is also one of my favourites! :)
