Royal Style: Queen Maxima 2016

20.1.16

It was back to business for Queen Maxima last week, with a New Year's Reception at the Royal Palace. Wearing a burnt orange dress complete with a brown cape, earthy tones are certainly a fashion trend to watch out for in 2016!

Plus I love her diamond dropper earrings.

Queen Maxima also attended the Keukenhof Flower Show, attending the Agriculture Entrepreneur Prize Awards. Her black and white houndstooth dress is very chic, as is her black cape!

King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima took part in the British Remembrance Ceremony at the Cenotaph earlier today.

Queen Maxima wore a traditional black ensemble, with a striking wide brimmed black hat.

Last week, King Willem and Queen Maxima were in Canada for a state visit. Their trip coincided with the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands.

Queen Maxima also wore a stunning hot pink long dress for a state dinner in Ottawa. Check it out here!

Another favourite look from the past few weeks was when Queen Maxima was joined by Queen Mathilde at a sculpture exhibition at the Hague. Both were dressed head to toe in Natan!

Royal Style: King Willem and Queen Maxima State Visit to Denmark

23.3.15

Two of our favourite royals collided last week when King Willem and Queen Maxima had a state visit to Denmark. They met with Prince Frederick and Princess Mary on the visit which also included a spectacular state dinner.

Queen Maxima arrived in Denmark wearing this amazing grey coat by Dutch designer Claes Iversen- I am obsessed and need this in my wardrobe!

Queen Maxima upcycled her inauguration gown for the state dinner - the striking cobalt blue gown was customer made by Dutch designer Jan Taminiau. Queen Maxima accessorised with a diamond and sapphire tiara, created by skilled Parisian jeweller Mellerio. It features 655 diamonds set in platinum, with 33 Kashmir sapphires nestled at the bottom of the diadem. WOW.

For the second post in the Royal Style series, I'm taking a look at the fashion of Queen Maxima. Queen Maxima became queen consort of the Netherlands on 30th April 2013.

Like her counterpart in Belgium, Queen Maxima favours brights and bold outfits, standout hats and serious jewellery.

Check out some of my favourite Queen Maxima looks below.

An elegant silhouette on a trip to South Korea in 2014. Queen Maxima wears a sand-coloured dress with a touch of green, made by Dutch designer Matthijs van Bergen. She also sported a matching pair of green earrings from the Dutch jewellery brand Miccy’s.

I love love LOVE this bright pink shift dress by NATAN that Queen Maxima wore in October 2014.

Queen Maxima knows how to accessorise well, choosing a Cartier tank and a Chanel flap bag.

Rocking the yellow and a multi-colored NATAN dress with fellow royals Queen Mathilde, King Philip and President Obama during the 70th Anniversary of the D Day landings. I also love the cool aviator shades!

What do you think of Queen Maxima's style? Let me know in the comments!
