Can A Woman be judged by her shoes?

Tumblr
A recent study conducted by the University of Kansas has revealed that people were able to accurately judge demographic and personality traits of complete strangers simply by looking at their most frequently worn shoes. 90% of a person's characteristics can be determined just by examining the style, cost, color and condition of their footwear.

The key (obvious!) points:

  • Extroverts wore flashy shoes
  • Wealthy individuals more expensive shoes
  • Conscientious people kept their shoes clean

The hardest demographic to judge was those with 'boring' shoes. Shoe owners described themselves as 'aloof and repressive,' and had difficulty forming relationships.

So next time you select your footwear, think about what impression you want to give!

Could Anna Wintour be an Ambassador?

Google

Vogue Editor has raised over $500,000 for President Obama's re-election campaign, so will she be awarded in the near future with a diplomatic post?

A recent report by The Guardian discusses the speculation, particularly in the wake of a successful fundraiser organised by Wintour and hosted at Sarah Jessica Parker's home in Tribeca, NYC.

Wintour's profile as political fundraiser has increased considerably over the last two years. She has attended high-profile White House events, including the state dinner for David Cameron earlier this year. Wintour also serves on the President's committee on the arts and humanities and has also hosted Democratic fundraisers at her home in Manhattan.

American Vogue has been supportive in Mrs Obama's quest to improve education and public health, and she has appeared consistently in various editions of the magazine, including on the front cover.

What is for certain is Wintour's presence in President Obama's campaign for a second term- so watch this space!
