Earthquake hits Eastern Coast

Hope all my readers on the Eastern Coast of the USA are okay following yesterday's 5.8 earthquake. The Washington National Cathedral and the Washington Monument (both pictured) experienced some minor damage from yesterday's tremors. The Huffington Post provides further information.

Over the weekend the President and First Lady enjoyed several 'date night' outings, including this one to Nancy's restaurant in Oak Bluffs. For this outing, Mrs O wore a black tank and a pleated colour block pleated skirt. Black sandals completed the laid back look.

The 19th Amendment celebrated it's 91st birthday yesterday, granting women with the right to vote since its ratification in 1920.

Female suffrage and its liberation has come a long way since the 1920s, with individuals such as Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton helping to shatter the glass ceiling for women in America and across the world. What is now required is the full ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to provide equal rights for both women and men across America.
