Mrs O: Outfits of the Year

All Belted Up


A cherry-red belt teams up with this magnificent shift at an awards ceremony.


Going for the simple look with a piece of black ribbon.


This brown cut-out belt caused quite a stir when the First Lady wore it at a breast cancer event in October.


Representing Chicago's bid for the 2016 Olympics, the First Lady sported a fabric lemon bow ribbon.


A dusky gray belt accents a gray and gold cardigan at a mentoring event.


This transparent and silver belt was debuted on the day of the first Obama State Dinner.


Possibly my favorite belt(s) of the set, are these Alaia creations in navy (above) and purple (below.)

First debuted at Miriam's Kitchen, Mrs O re-wore this clear vinyl Sonia Rykiel belt with red D-shape buckle on her trip to Europe.


The First Lady wore the same belt, but this time with a neon pink buckle on one of her visits to a government agency.


At a ceremony at the Capitol honoring Sojourner Truth, the First Lady wears a black patent leather belt by Maria Cornejo.


The First Lady debuts a snakeskin belt at the Department of Energy.


A wide black belt at the Remembrance Day services.


For their first visit to Europe as President and First Lady, Mrs O selected her favorite Azzedine Alaia belt to pair with a Moschino blouse and Michael Kors black pencil skirt.


The First Lady selected the same belt when she flew into London. This time it accompanied a chartreuse-yellow silk crepe cocktail dress by Jason Wu and a black cardigan coat by Michael Kors.

Clinton the most admired women of 2009

In a poll conducted by USA Today/Gallop, Secretary Clinton was named the most admired women of 2009. Topping the poll with 16%, Sarah Palin received 15% and Oprah and Michelle Obama received 8% and 7% respectively.

Unsurprisingly, President Obama topped the men's poll with 30% of the vote. George W Bush received 4%, and Nelson Mandela 3%.

Dr Biden: Outfits of the Year

A Splash of Color

Dr Biden wore this fantastic block color shift for an appearance on The Today Show, discussing help for military families with Ann Curry.

Sporting a stylish deep purple jacket and lavender scarf, Dr Biden helps to commemorate Remembrance Day.

Accompanying Vice-President Biden, Dr B wears a patriotic red jacket.

Celebrating Easter at the White House, Jill wears a bright turquoise shift, cropped jacket and silver Tory Burch flats.

For an event at the Naval Observatory, Dr B wears a pink shift with button detailing and strings of pearls.

Biden Family depart for vacation


The Bidens departed Wilmington, DE last night for their vacation in the Virgin Islands. They will return on January 3rd 2010. Happy Holidays!

The Bidens Christmas Day


Vice President and Dr Biden served Christmas Day lunch to patients and staff at Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Christmas Day. They met with families and wounded soldiers during their visit.

The President, First Lady, Maya Soetoro-Ng and her husband Konrad depart the Alan Wong restaurant after an evening meal. The First Lady appears to be wearing a patterned dress.

Dr Biden: Outfits of the Year


The Inauguration Series

Arriving for a rally in Baltimore, Dr Biden, somewhat co-ordinated with Mrs O, wore a black wool belted trench, purple scarf and platform boots.

For an appearance on a special taping of Oprah at the Kennedy Center, Dr Biden wore a deep purple dress and black slingbacks.

Assisting at a volunteering event, Jill sported a unique Obama 2008 tee-shirt, purchased from the Designers for Obama online store. Her delicate diamond horseshoe necklace also made a welcome appearance.

At the Kids Inaugural Concert, Dr B wore a black mini dress, tights and her platform boots.

For the We Are One concert, Jill wore her black wool trench, black pants and a fiesty burnt orange scarf.

For inauguration day, the Doctor chose a striking red coat, wearing a gray checked shift and black knee boots. A simple black clutch complemented this daring outfit.

For the mass of inaugural balls, Dr B continued the red theme, selecting a strapless red gown from Reem Acra. Silver stilettos complemented the sparkling outfit.
