Michelle Obama wears this gorgeous Peter Sorenson dress to the Governors Ball, the first black tie event at the White House for their administration.
I felt compelled to post these two amazing pictures of Michelle Obama. The first, published in 2007, highlights her amazing fashion senese. The second, from the current March 2009 issue was taken by Annie Leibovitz at the Hay Adams in Washington. I can't wait to see more from the shoot.
Sorry that I am a week late with my report!!
As expected, Kate Winslet took Best Actress, and Slumdog Millionnaire and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button swept the table clean. I was disappointed that Frost/Nixon didn't pick up one BAFTA, but keeping my fingers crossed for the Oscars.
As for the fashion, I noticed there was an awful lot of black. But my favourites (above) were worn by Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet and Penelope Cruz.
I was disappointed that we didn't see the fabulous Helen Mirren- come to the Oscars!!
So it's official. The new First Lady, Michelle Obama appears on the March issue of American Vogue, only the second First Lady to do so since Hillary Clinton. In an Annie Leibovitz shoot, in which Obama appears to mimic a similar portrait of Jacqueline Kennedy, the First Lady wears a magenta shift.
The First Lady was photographed by Leibovitz at the Hay Adams Hotel, Washington DC in January 2009.
So the night has finally arrived! Who will reign victorious at this year's awards? Even though I desperately want Meryl Streep to win Best Actress for Doubt, I have a sneaky feeling that Kate Winslet will steal the show. I'm hoping that Frost/Nixon does well, and that Mamma Mia picks up the mask for Best British Film.
I'll be back tomorrow with my thoughts on the winners, the losers and of course the fashion!
