Around 300 guests attended a reception in the East Room of the White House last night, celebrating the achievements of this year's Kennedy Center Honorees. The ceremony at the Kennedy Center saw performances from the TV show Glee and Melissa Ethridge. The First Lady wore a pleated, orchid purple chiffon gown by Peter Soronen, accompanied a dazzling necklace and bangles. Guests (pictured above) included Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and her husband Paul, Mayor Fenty and his wife Michelle, Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, Katie Couric, Jennifer Nettles and former Majority Leader Tom Daschle.
