The Sartorial Re-Branding of Sarah Brown

Sarah Brown introduced her husband at the Labour Party Conference in Brighton yesterday. Along with her emotional and highly personal introduction, the other striking element on the platform was her brightly colored dress. Designed by Erdem and priced at £600, the bold item of clothing is not just a fabulous example of what British fashion has to offer, but the transformation which Mrs. Brown has undergone in under a year.

Here we take a look at some of Sarah's most recent looks.

The Prime Minister and Sarah Brown arrive for the beginning of the conference, with Mrs. B looking stylish in a tailored black dress, cardigan and patent handbag.
Sarah repeats elements of the look a few days later, whilst borrowing Michelle Obama's signature belt perhaps?
At a meeting of the G20 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mrs Brown opted for pencil skirts, jersey dresses and a belted white half-trench mac.

F-f to the Labour Conference two days ago, and Sarah accessories traditional black with a coral pink military style coat.
Finally, Sarah wears a navy-blue wool dress with velvet cuffs, collar and shoulder detail.

Sarah's style has certainly evolved compared to this time last year. She seems to be taking more risks, whilst sticking to shapes, styles and designers which she likes. This is no bad thing, and she is also successfully promoting what the British Fashion Industry has to offer. My respect for Sarah Brown has grown over recent months, particularly in the area of her charity work.

I was fortunate enough to interview Sarah Brown over the summer, and stay tuned for the transcript and downloadable PDF file.
