One word: fantastic. When a research assistant to a high-flying Congressman is killed, two journalists are assigned by their Editor to report on what's going on. Enter mystery, intrigue, corruption and lies. Oh and a good bit of swearing from Mirren. Set in Washington DC, the race is on to uncover the truth before someone else gets killed by a crazed hitman. Sets and locations are incredible, I played spot-the-location a few times, coming up with the Kennedy Center and of course the Capitol Hill area. Behind Mirren's desk are personal photos of her with her family, most of these are taken from her best-selling book 'In The Frame.'
The Washington Globe is the Washington Post, Della and Cal are Woodward & Bernstein and Cameron Lynne is Katharine Graham.
A 5* film!

I'm hoping to go and see that soon. In your opinion was it from a particular political perspective, or did it have an agenda? Was it say from the left or the right?
well there's no doubt that the Congressman is a Democrat, but I don't think the film has an overtly political agenda. It was more about the journalist trying to help his friend and uncover the truth.
What was apparant was the links between the fictional paper and the Washington Post.
Hence, the Globe is the Post, the two journalists are Woodward & Bernstein and the Editor is Katharine Graham. All updated for the contemporary world of course.
But definately go and see it and I'd like to hear what your thoughts are on this topic!
